Pvc flooring is obtained by polymerization of pvc, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), the chemical name of which is polyvinyl chloride. With the combination of polyvinyl chloride, mineral aggregates, colorants, pigments, plasticizers, stabilizers and other additives, PVC flooring (zemin kaplama), which is a long-lasting and economical flooring material, is obtained. The sheets in the form of rolls or tiles are assembled with adhesive on the subfloor in smooth places.
PVC FLOOR COATING TYPES
Homogeneous Pvc Floor Coating
It is a single layer PVC floor covering that has the same feature throughout the material. Usually 2 mm thickness is produced. There are classes according to the corrosion resistance.
Group T:
Since the abrasion resistance curing is both on the surface and content of the material, it does not require polish.
Group P:
The anti-corrosion cure is only found on the surface of the pvc floor covering. After a certain period of time, it is necessary to use a polish depending on the use.
Group M:
There is no corrosion resistance cure on the surface and content of the floor coating systems. Therefore, polish application should be made immediately after it is installed in its place.
Heterogeneous Pvc Floor Coating
It is a pvc floor covering produced in multiple layers, usually 2 mm thick, with a wear layer on the upper layer. The upper wear layer determines the quality of the material. The material with the most upper wear layer is of higher quality. It does not require varnish in heterogeneous pvc floor covering.
Acoustic PVC Floor Coating
It is a type of PVC floor covering with high sound holding capability used in buildings such as retirement homes, schools, hospitals, offices, kindergartens, cinema halls to eliminate or reduce disturbing sounds such as noise, vibration, echo. It has a soft structure with high sound holding ability.
Conductive PVC Floor Coating
It is a type of PVC flooring that is highly resistant to abrasion, breakage, scratching, moisture and water in areas with dense crowds and continuous wear. It is an antistatic material that eliminates the negative effects of static electricity on people and devices. It is an aesthetic, easy-to-clean, durable material that does not change color and texture, used in many areas such as gyms, industrial establishments, hospitals, schools, factories.
Lvt Floor Coating
Lvt, which is the abbreviated name of vinyl flooring, is used to give the desired spaces a look like natural wood, stone or marble. It is very similar in appearance to materials such as natural wood, marble or stone. In this way, the floor is given the appearance of natural material, long-lasting, durable and economically. It is a heterogeneous multi-layered pvc floor covering. It is a material with high abrasion resistance, low water and oil absorption, easy and fast cleaning, non-conducting electricity and dirt-repellent.
PVC FLOOR COATING FEATURES
It has waterproof feature. Liquids spilled on the coating remain on its surface. Therefore, unwanted situations such as swelling, swelling, deterioration do not occur.
It does not cause rusting or mold.
It is a flexible material.
It does not hold oil.
It has high resistance to pressure.
It is a long-lasting material.
It absorbs unwanted sounds such as noise, vibration and echo.
It is economical. Construction and maintenance costs are low.
It is easy to clean and maintain.
It has high alkali resistance.
It is hygienic.
It can be produced in various colors and designs. It adds beauty to spaces as it is aesthetic.
It has good heat resistance.
It is antibacterial.
It is produced in the form of rolls or tiles.
APPLICATION
PREPARATION
Before the PVC floor is installed, it is desired that the sub-surface floor has high strength and be free of dust, dirt, plaster, paint and loose materials. For this reason, self leveling (self-leveling screed) is applied before making a pvc floor. In this way, a high-strength, crack-free, clean, level and smooth surface is obtained.
The humidity rate of the concrete floor where PVC will be laid should be below 12 percent.
Room temperature should be 18⁰ and the temperature of concrete should be 15⁰.
PVC skirting parts on the wall must be smooth in its gauge, internal and external corner turns must be square with 90 degrees.
APPLICATION
After the substrate is ready, priming is applied.
How much PVC material is needed is determined by measuring the place where the PVC floor covering will be laid.
It is laid on the ground in reverse to straighten the rolled material.
PVC is cut according to the size taken with the help of a steel gauge and a utility knife.
The adhesive is spread on the floor with a fine toothed trowel.
After about 10 minutes, the PVC material is laid on the adhesive.
The parts coming to the edge of the wall are cut from the bottom with the help of a utility knife.
Air spaces remaining in it are removed.
The joints are opened between the parts with a grooving knife.
A solid floor is obtained by hot welding with a welding machine to the opened joints.
Cover profiles must be used in different material transitions.
